Good morning Hogwartians and welcome to the end of May.  For you firsties out there, we here at the blog like to do a little end of the month celebration the last Friday where we give away a prize.

As I am a [somewhat] snarky Slytherin, I enjoy making people work for their prize in random and sometimes entertaining ways.  In this case I pose a question and give everyone a month to answer it.

The May Felix Felicis question was this, "If you could spin the fiber from one magical creature what would it be and what would you craft with the resulting yarn? "

The answers were wide ranging, but the winner is.......
                                                    GazeboGal
who said, "Demiguise hair, of course!   and... I'd make a nightie out of it..."

There is just something about a woman who apreciates an invisibility nightie that warrants a prize.  So my dear, pm me your address and I'll send you a lovely little shawl pin, for your invisibility nightie.

And now....the Felix Felicis Question for the month of June is as follows.

You have joined a magical crafting swap.  Your secret swap partner is Minerva McGonagall.  The rules of the swap say you must use divination to come up with package contents which must include: her favorite candy and a knit or crocheted accessory.  What would you send her?

You have until June 23rd to post your answer as a  comment in this thread.  And please remember - I failed divination, so if you don't include your RavID in your answer, I won't be able to find you if  you win.

Could I possibly use legilimency? Since McGonagall was Headmistress for a little while, I'm sure the gargoyles in front of the office could confirm that she likes Fizzing Whisbees (assuming she followed Dumbledore's password theme).
As far as handknits go? I would probably go with a simple scarf--something to keep her warm during late rounds of Hogwarts--but I'd make it from spun cat hair.

Aunttallulah I would give her mini dragon eggs. They have a small burst of flames when you put them in your mouth with choclatey goodness. She is a fiery woman after all. I would knit her a tartan felted container with lid so she could put her cat food in when she transfigures!

I would get her a chocolate frog, since what woman doesn't love chocolate! As far as a knitted item i would make her a felted cat toy/pillow. Big enough to use as a couch pillow, but small enough to bat around in cat mode.

ooh, i do think Professor McGonagall would love herself a warming cup of tea, brewed properly of course - i would gift her a tartan(/plaid) teacosy, and perhaps some licorice wands to go with her tea ;)

I have a feeling that Minerva shares my fondness for old-fashioned floral flavored sweets so I'd send her tins of rose and violet pastilles. For the knitted item I'd make her a Multnomah in a variegated yarn featuring dark greens and a splash of burgundy since I'm enjoying knitting the one I'm working on but don't think the color is quite her.

I would gift Professor McGonagall with hard, butterscotch flavored candies. Afterall, she is a Scotswoman! ;)

Then, I would crochet a lovely tartan shawl for her to use when she has to break up the never-ending Quidditch parties when Gryffindor wins the Quidditch House Cup. :)

hmmm...
TKJ says that "Oh.. that woman has a fiery personality. I have a feeling that she has a taste for some of the odder candies out there.. I can imagine a young minerva messing around with droobles best chewing gum.. but I have a feeling that she is probably eating Animal Crackers on her free time. I also think that if I made her something, I'd make her a hogwarts crest blanket, with red and gold as the trim!"

I do not wish to make an official entry, as I won last month... however, I would send the lovely old gal lemon sours and l-o-n-g handknitted thigh-high stockings.

old fashioned Herbal tablets (I don't think you can get them in the States but I might be wrong...)

and handknits - well she's a big quidditch fan so maybe a pair of mitts with the half fingers and a flap to keep her hands warm while she cheers on Gryffindor

Well, for the knit/crocheted accessory, I'd send her a wizard's hat, sized appropriately for a cat. Because who wouldn't take her seriously if she were sitting on her desk (as a cat) wearing a wizard's hat?! Maybe incoming first years won't make the same mistake Harry and Ron made, thinking Professor McGonagall is also late, because she's sitting on her desk as a cat. ;)

As for the candy, I would send her a giant box of Chocoballs, because somebody who deserves as much respect as her deserves some delicious chocolate filled with cream and strawberry moose! Yum!
