Congratulations, stitchywitchy! You've won this week's kit. Please message me on Ravelry with your mailing address so I can send out your kit.

I just wanted to give everyone an update -- being sick has really thrown me off, so I've been behind on sending out prizes. I'm really sorry, but thank you for being so patient!

Next week's prize is a copy of Yarns To Dye For: Creating Self-Patterning Yarns for Knitting by Kathleen Taylor.

Leave a comment with your favorite yarn, and you'll be entered for a chance to win!

Love and scales,

ooh first??

This is hard question... so far my favorite yarn is anything I own so that I actually get to PLAY with it!

It really depends on what I'm in the mood to knit; sometimes I have a strong desire for a good, basic wool, sometimes I want something silky with good drape, and sometimes I just want sock yarn.

Though I must say the most awesome yarn I've ever used has been Misty Alpaca Chunky. That stuff is soft like BUTTAH! :D

Hi, I'm SFCorgi and I am a Malabrigo Junkie.

My favorite is actually Dos, a yarn they haven't even released yet. I am that much of a Junkie.

I love sock yarn. I can't resist it. I have a problem.

I think my fav sock yarn is Opal, they really make lovely self patterning yarns, especially the Harry Potter ones. Too bad they aren't producing the HP line any more.

My most favorite yarn of all time is the I Love This Yarn found at Hobby Lobby. The average skein you pick up is a worsted weight, although there is a sports weight as well, and a variation in cotton too. It's always super soft-- which is nice for those of us with sensitive skin-- there's a great choice in colors, and it's available at a good price too! There's not much you can't do with I Love This Yarn...

Well...i think i'd have to say Valley Yarns Superwash DK. i used it for my Wave and Dimple Kimono and it's like being wrapped in a kitten.

Fiber type/?? Totally Cashmere & Alpaca; but I don't think that's what you meant. For brand name, it's Hobby Lobby I love this yarn all the way (being allergic to wool, we have to get more creative).

I have to agree with 01.Tangled. I Love This Yarn! is amazing. It has taken my teeny tiny graduate student budget, and allowed me to knit lots of things for my family and friends. Its soo soft, and it can just be washed in the washer. Which is a plus when two of my recipients are boys under the age of ten who get really dirty.
I also love undyed sock yarn. Dying with kool-aid yarn has become one of my favorite pastimes.

ok, so i miss read the assignment; thus i deleted my previous posts.

so, what is my favorite yarn... well, i am not a sock or lace knitter, so that is out. i have just found the most wonderful yarn Mirasol Tupa, it is like working with butter. I am also in love with Malabrigo, Rios is my fav at the moment as it is washable; and with children that is a plus!!

My favorite yarn is a colorful worsted weight wool. I can use it for a variety of projects, it's easy on my hands, and I love watching the colors change. But really, I'll knit and crochet with almost anything. - JMN of Hufflepuff

Besides my handspun, I have to say that my favorite yarn is ECO Wool, followed closely by any amazing sock yarn that happens to strike my fancy.

This is a hard one for me to answer because I'm still finding out what I like! I guess, so far my favorite yarn to buy, work with, and wear is WoolEase. I recently won a skein of Malabrigo Lace and I loved it, but it will be awhile before I can buy it for myself!

My favorite yarn would be Cascade 220. It has a multiple of colors and is worsted weight. I do love alpaca yarns with their softness, but the versibility of Cascade 220 can't be beat.

It's hard to pick just one favorite yarn, but right now my fave is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes.

Oh, oh, OH! I would love a book on dying!

Right now my favorite yarn is malabrigo sock. Even though I'm not working with it because I am saving it for something special! lol I'm hoping to get my hands on some mal silky merino in the next month or two. And I love Manos del Uruguay silk blend!

I'm also in love with Elann Tremelo, which I am working with right now. Nice stuff, tho discontinued (sad 1).
