Our Last Giveaway!

Can you believe it? Thanksgiving (for the US) has already passed by, and now we're heading down that path toward all the winter holidays!

And the Deathly Hallows Pt. One has been released! I went to see it at a 12:05am showing opening night (er, morning?), and in less than 24 hours, I was going to see it again with two friends who haven't read the books. Hmph. Muggles.

Now we only have Pt. Two ahead of us...and I can't help feeling really sad. It's all ending, in a way. But we'll always have the books, and since that's where the magic started, I'm taking some comfort in that.

This week, I'm announcing our last giveaway winner. The winner gets to choose either a mitten or sock project, in their House colors. This will include yarn, needles and a pattern of the winner's choice. I'm really excited to put it together, so without further ado:

The winner is...

Joannie of Hufflepuff! Congratulations! Please message me on Ravelry so we can talk about your prize package!

Thank you, everyone who's taken part! I've loved reading all of your answers to my silly questions. I really feel like we have gone on a journey together -- and haven't we, whether it's the books, the movies or the House Cup Challenge itself?

Friday Giveaway!

Holy bowtruckles, guys! I saw Deathly Hallows Part One last night, at the 12:05am show. I'm still reeling. It reminded me of what an intense journey we've all been on since the first book came out -- and how the next stage of the journey is drawing to a close.

I loved reading all of your stories about your knitting disasters! Not that I loved knowing that they happened, but it makes me really happy that no one took the disasters as a reflection of themselves or their knitting talent. We may mess up, but we keep trying. That's definitely in the spirit of Harry Potter and his friends.

This week's winner's story is one that I've definitely experienced:

450 yards of fingering weight yarn, in a tangle? I would rather have spattergroit/the death flu again than face something like that! Congratulations, CommaSplice! Not only are you braver than I, you've won this week's prize! Please message me on Ravelry with your address so I can mail out your row counter!

Next week is the last giveaway for this term, if you can believe it! Since it is the last one, it's going to be a little special -- a sock or mitten kit (winner's choice) in their House colors! If you want to be entered, please leave me a comment here, telling me your first Harry Potter memory -- whether it's about the books, the movies, whatever you like!

I hope all your projects are going well -- we're almost there!

Hello Cuppers!

I'm sorry for the delay in the giveaway results -- I've got a nasty case of the flu and spent most of yesterday in bed. At least it's not spattergroit!

With no more time wasted, let me present to you the winner of last week's giveaway!

So, to keep any other Cupper from the same fate in which I constantly find myself, I'm putting together a mini-first aid for the winner of next week's giveaway! To enter, just leave a comment here, and tell me what your favorite part of fall is!

Before we get on to this week's prize giveaway, I just want to send a shout-out to Lisakbye, last week's winner -- you didn't contact me so I don't know where to send your prize! Please message me on Ravelry to claim your prize.

Holy cats, you guys! I've been reading over the comments on the last giveaway post as they come in -- I can't believe some of you are turning in projects for your third and fourth classes! It boggles my sexy little Slytherin mind!

Before I get too boggled, however, let's get down to the awesome business of who won last week's Knitpicks pattern!

My complicated spell-work came up with a random number:
