And last, but certainly not least, congrats to isisonearth, our very own Herbology professor this term, who completed a project for every single class (except her own, obviously) all term and completed an OWL!
Great job, everyone, and good luck next term!

10 Questions With...
Every Friday this past term, the reporting staff has posted an interview with a professor or administrator in the Hogwarts HPKCHC. This past Friday, this reporter messed up and did not post the wonderful, charming, yay-she-got-a-new-job-and-just-had-a-birthday DevonC, professor of the "Rotation 2" classes (Arithmancy, Transfiguration and Astronomy). So, without further ado, here is your professor!
Which is your favorite Harry Potter book?
Sure, start with the hard questions!! This is so tough to say and it changes daily, but the one I always go back to is book 3, Prisoner of Azkaban. I could also read the chapter “The Prince’s Tale” from book 7 over and over and over.
Which is your favorite Harry Potter movie?
Probably Prisoner as well – the scene at the end where he jumps out and yells “EXPECTO!! PATRONUM!!” - legendary.
Who is your favorite Harry Potter character?
Hermione, even though I’m a Ravenclaw. Luna is a close second ;)
And to transition the love of
all things HP into the House Cup…
How did you become involved with the House Cup?
I am in the Ravenclaw group on Ravelry, though I don’t check it much. I happened to see GazeboGal’s post about the second term and I jumped right in!
What is your favorite part of the House Cup?
I love the camaraderie and all the new friends I’ve made, but the biggest thing for me is the motivation to FINISH projects instead of just starting and abandoning them!!
What made you volunteer to teach the “Rotation 2” class (Arithmancy, Transfiguration and Astronomy)?
I’ve had a great idea for Transfiguration since like, the second month I played (you’ll find out next month ;) ), and being a teacher in real life I was dying to teach at Hogwarts! So when the chance came up I jumped at it!
What makes a student’s project stand out to you?
I have been loving all of my students’ projects!! But what really makes something stand out is a really clever interpretation of the concept, like strawberries or pineapples or Fibonacci socks or a flower pin. I am also a sucker for a great photo, and an awesome story!!
And a little bit about you…
Do you knit, crochet, spin, or some combination of the three?
I knit. Knit, knit, knit. The only thing I crochet is jewelry. And spinning… I’d love to try it but it seems dangerous – a way to INCREASE the amount of yarn I have while simultaneously decreasing knitting time? I’d end up buried in wool!
What is your favorite type of item to craft?
Baby gifts – I’m a Leo and I live for the oooo’s and ahhh’s at baby showers!
Last, but not least, what’s the story behind your Ravelry ID “DevonC”?
The boring one – first name, last initial. I try to be just Devon whenever possible but it was already taken - she’s really talented, I made her my friend :) I don’t really do the whole “online persona” – I’m just me, wherever I go.
